Fresh and Cool rents freezer trucks to businesses across the UAE moving frozen stock by the pallet. Seafood importers, frozen food distributors, ice cream suppliers and wholesale meat traders running cargo between cold stores, ports and retail distribution points.
Four sizes are available for hire, from a 3-ton for single-site frozen restocks up to a 10-ton for bulk inter-emirate runs. The larger two are built differently rather than simply built bigger — heavier insulation and heavy-duty compressors, because holding deep-freeze across a long route is a different problem from holding it across town. Below we set out what each size carries, how each holds temperature, and what each costs.
Tell us your pallet count and route, and we will confirm the right size and a fixed rate before you commit.
Our 0°C to −25°C freezer truck hire runs on two build specifications, matched to what each size is asked to do.
3 and 5 ton — 100 mm injected PUF. Thermo King or Carrier Transicold refrigeration, insulated to the same standard as our freezer vans, sized for city and short regional frozen distribution.
7 and 10 ton — 120 mm injected PUF and heavy-duty diesel compressors. The heavy fleet carries twenty millimetres more insulation and a compressor unit specified for continuous rather than intermittent duty. Thermo King freezer truck rental at this tier is built to sustain −25°C across long inter-emirate runs in peak summer, not to reach it briefly and drift.
Specs | 3 & 5 Ton | 7 & 10 Ton |
Insulation | 100 mm PUF | 120 mm PUF |
Pull-down to setpoint | 60–75 min | 90–120 min |
Recovery after door close | 6–8 min | 10–12 min |

The heavy fleet takes longer on both timings, and that is the correct trade rather than a shortfall. Forty cubic metres of air takes longer to pull down than thirteen, and wider doors take longer to recover. What the extra insulation buys is the opposite of speed — it is how slowly the box loses temperature once it has it, which is what matters across a six-hour run.
Frozen pallet work is usually limited by volume before weight. Here is what each size holds, how each is built, and what each costs to run.
AED 400/day 4 to 6 pallets · 13.5 CBM · 100 mm insulation · tail lift fitted Entry-level frozen pallet transport for single-site restocks and small wholesale runs, with ground-level delivery access.
AED 450/day 8 to 10 pallets · 21 CBM · 100 mm insulation · tail lift fitted Multi-drop frozen distribution for retail replenishment and regional supply routes where sites lack a loading dock.
AED 550/day 12 to 14 pallets · 30 CBM · 120 mm insulation · dock required Wholesale frozen distribution and longer regional hauls, built on the heavy specification.
AED 650/day 16 to 18 pallets · 40 CBM · 120 mm insulation · dock required Bulk and inter-emirate frozen freight — port collections, cold store transfers and full-pallet contract distribution.
Choosing between them
On cost. A 3-ton at AED 400 for five pallets works out near AED 80 per pallet per day. A 10-ton at AED 650 for seventeen comes to roughly AED 38 — less than half.
On temperature. The 7 and 10 ton carry 120 mm insulation rather than 100 mm. Moving up a tier buys a better-insulated box as well as a cheaper pallet, so for long routes and summer heat the heavy fleet is the more thermally stable choice, not merely the larger one.
Note the access trade-off: the 3 and 5 ton carry 1,000 kg hydraulic tail lifts, while the 7 and 10 ton need a dock or an on-site forklift.

Daily rate | AED 400 | AED 450 | AED 550 | AED 650 |
Freezer truck rental price per day is set out below by tonnage, per vehicle, with a professional driver included in every figure. Weekly and monthly terms lower the effective daily cost considerably.
Tonnage | Daily | Weekly | Monthly |
3 ton | AED 400 | AED 1,850 | AED 6,000 |
5 ton | AED 450 | AED 2,100 | AED 6,800 |
7 ton | AED 550 | AED 2,400 | AED 8,200 |
10 ton | AED 650 | AED 2,750 | AED 9,200 |
Monthly reefer truck rental is priced per vehicle. Fixed-route contracts and multi-truck fleets are quoted individually.
What the rate covers
Included in every rate: the vehicle · a professional driver · pre-cooling to your setpoint before dispatch · digital temperature logging · HACCP documentation on request
Charged separately: 5% VAT · fuel · Salik tolls · mileage beyond 250 km per day, at AED 0.50 per kilometre
Terms: minimum hire one day, based on a 10-hour shift · AED 1,500 security deposit, waived for corporate accounts
On market rates
Published UAE rates for a 3-ton freezer truck with a driver reach AED 650 per day.
At AED 650 we supply a 10-ton — roughly three times the pallet capacity, on the heavy 120 mm build, for the same daily figure.
Hot-gas defrost, every 6 to 8 hours. Every freezer unit has to clear ice from its evaporator periodically, and ours do it on a microprocessor-controlled hot-gas cycle. While that cycle runs, box temperature rises. It is unavoidable on any refrigerated vehicle — the question is when it happens.
Forced defrost before departure. On long inter-emirate routes our drivers manually initiate a defrost cycle during loading and pre-cooling, clearing the evaporator before the truck moves. That means no automatic cycle can trigger while the vehicle is running on the highway with a full frozen load aboard. Mid-route defrost is among the most common causes of a softened bulk consignment, and it is invisible to the driver until the doors open at the far end.
Strip curtains and fast transfer. Double-ribbed PVC strip curtains are fitted across all rear loading doors, holding a cold pocket in place while the doors stand open. On the 7 and 10 ton, where recovery windows run to 10 to 12 minutes, pallet transfer by dock or forklift matters more than on smaller units — speed at the door is what keeps the recovery count low.
Frozen pallet cargo is handled differently from loose frozen boxes. Stacking, restraint and transfer speed all affect what arrives intact:
Cargo density decides tonnage as much as volume does. Frozen seafood and meat reach payload before they fill the bay, which suits the 7 and 10 ton. Lighter frozen bakery and ready meal runs fill the space first and sit better in a 3 or 5 ton.
Yes. The 7 and 10 ton carry 120 mm injected PUF insulation and heavy-duty diesel compressor units specified for continuous duty rather than intermittent city running. That combination is what sustains −25°C across long inter-emirate routes in peak ambient heat rather than reaching it briefly.
Sixty to seventy-five minutes on the 3 and 5 ton, and 90 to 120 minutes on the 7 and 10 ton — the larger bay holds three times the air. Pull-down runs at our yard before dispatch, so no part of it happens with your cargo inside.
Not on a long route. Drivers force a defrost cycle during loading and pre-cooling, clearing the evaporator before departure so the automatic cycle cannot trigger mid-journey. Cycles otherwise run on a 6 to 8 hour schedule.
A 3-ton holds 4 to 6 pallets, a 5-ton 8 to 10, a 7-ton 12 to 14, and a 10-ton 16 to 18. Cargo volume runs from 13.5 CBM up to 40 CBM. Send your pallet count and we will confirm the size.
The 3 and 5 ton, both fitted with 1,000 kg hydraulic tail lifts that lower a full pallet to ground level. The 7 and 10 ton carry no tail lift — that weight goes to payload instead — so they need a dock or an on-site forklift.
Usually. Two 5-ton trucks cost AED 900 a day against AED 650 for a single 10-ton carrying a similar pallet count — AED 250 less, with one driver, one fuel bill and one set of tolls rather than two.
Self-drive on a 3 or 5 ton requires a valid UAE Category 5 medium truck licence. The 7 and 10 ton require a Category 4 heavy truck licence and are supplied with our drivers only.
