Refrigerated Truck Rental in the UAE — Carry Chilled and Frozen Cargo in a Single Vehicle on One Delivery Run | Book Now

Fresh and Cool rents multi-temperature refrigerated trucks to businesses across the UAE that move chilled and frozen stock on the same route. Two separately controlled compartments in one vehicle, so a load of chilled dairy and a load of frozen seafood travel together without either affecting the other.

Four sizes are available, from 3 tons up to 10 tons, each fitted with dual independent evaporator units rather than a divided single-temperature box. The compartment split is set to your pallet ratio before the truck leaves our yard, and can be reconfigured between hires as your cargo mix changes.

Our refrigerated truck for rent runs on daily, weekly and monthly terms from AED 450 per day with a professional driver included. These are specialist vehicles prepared to order, so we ask for 24 to 48 hours’ notice — enough time to pre-cool both zones, set the bulkhead to your ratio and calibrate each evaporator before dispatch from our Sharjah yard.

Tell us your temperature split and cargo, and we will configure the truck around it.

What Separates a True Dual-Zone Truck From a Partitioned Single-Zone Box

The term “dual-zone” is used loosely in this market, and the difference between the two versions of it is the difference between a working cold chain and a compromised one.

A partitioned box is one temperature with a wall in it. A single evaporator feeds the whole cargo area, and a damper directs some air to a second section. Because both compartments draw from the same air path, they pull toward each other. The frozen side warms, the chilled side cools past where it should be, and the record shows two compartments that never held their set points independently.

Our trucks use dual independent evaporator coils. Each compartment has its own coil running off a high-capacity multi-compressor Thermo King or Carrier system. The two zones are programmed separately and share no air path — no damper, no bleed, no drift.

The practical proof is at the door. Opening the frozen compartment on a delivery leaves the chilled compartment fully isolated, because the two were never connected. Its temperature log shows no disturbance at all from that stop.

If you have been quoted a dual zone chilled and frozen truck before, there is one question that settles which version you were offered: are the evaporator units independent?

Setting the Split to Match Your Load — Movable Bulkhead at 50/50, 60/40 or 70/30

The bulkhead moves. Compartments are divided by a heavy-duty insulated partition mounted on longitudinal and cross tracks, so the proportions are set to your cargo rather than fixed at the factory. Standard positions give a 50/50, 60/40 or 70/30 split, and we set it before the truck leaves the yard.

It is insulated to its own specification. The partition carries an 80 mm high-density PUF core on the 3 and 5 ton, and 100 mm on the 7 and 10 ton, with double-lip rubber perimeter seals along every edge. Those seals are what prevent thermal bridging where the partition meets the box — the point at which a poorly built divider leaks most.

It can be repositioned between hires. Temperature controlled truck hire in the UAE usually means committing to one configuration. A distributor running 50/50 frozen and chilled through one month and 70/30 chilled and ambient the next does not need two vehicles or two contracts. The bulkhead moves and the evaporator programs change with it.

Frozen, Chilled or Controlled Ambient — Choosing the Two Modes You Need

Each zone runs independently in any of three modes, and any two operate at the same time.

Frozen — −18°C to −22°C. Frozen seafood, meat, ice cream and frozen ready meals are held at deep-freeze throughout the route.

Chilled — +2°C to +5°C. Dairy, fresh produce, chilled meat, beverages and most pharmaceutical stock.

Controlled ambient — +15°C to +18°C. The mode almost nobody offers. Pharmaceutical and cosmetic products specified for Controlled Room Temperature are damaged by chilling as surely as by heat, and they cannot travel in a standard refrigerated compartment. This zone holds them in their required band.

Any pairing works: frozen with chilled for food distribution, chilled with ambient for pharmaceutical runs carrying both cold-chain and room-temperature stock, or frozen with ambient where the two extremes travel together.

Full thermal separation is held in outside temperatures above +45°C, which is when a shared-air system is least able to keep two set points apart.

How Many Pallets Fit in Each Zone Across 3, 5, 7 and 10 Ton

Monthly refrigerated truck rental is priced per vehicle. Fixed-route contracts are quoted individually.

What the rate covers

Included: the vehicle · a professional driver · both zones pre-cooled to your set points · bulkhead configured to your ratio · digital temperature logging on each zone · HACCP documentation on request

Charged separately: 5% VAT · fuel · Salik tolls · mileage beyond 250 km per day, at AED 0.50 per kilometre

Terms: minimum hire one day, based on a 10-hour shift · AED 1,500 security deposit, waived for corporate accounts

One truck instead of two

A mixed chilled and frozen load has traditionally meant hiring two single-temperature trucks — two rates, two drivers, two fuel bills and two routes covering the same drops.

On a monthly contract the gap widens considerably. A 10-ton multi-temperature truck at AED 9,800 replaces two vehicles costing AED 17,700 — a difference of AED 7,900 a month, before fuel and tolls.

Published UAE rates for a 10-ton dual-zone truck reach AED 1,020 a day and AED 16,500 a month. Ours are AED 700 and AED 9,800.

When a Multi-Temperature Truck Is the Wrong Choice for Your Load

If your load is entirely chilled or entirely frozen, you do not need this vehicle and we will not send you one.

A multi-temperature truck carries the cost of a second evaporator system, a second compressor circuit and the yard preparation that goes with them. On a single-temperature load, none of that does any work. A dedicated chiller truck or freezer truck carries the same pallet count at the same temperature for a lower daily rate, and it can usually be dispatched faster because it needs no bulkhead configuration.

Tell us what you are moving when you enquire. If one temperature covers it, we will quote the single-temperature vehicle instead and say so plainly, rather than putting you in a truck built for a job you do not have.

Booking and Preparation — Why We Ask for 24 to 48 Hours' Notice

What the lead time buys. A multi-temperature truck is not dispatched, it is configured. Both zones are pre-cooled to your specified set points, the bulkhead is repositioned to your pallet ratio, and each evaporator is calibrated against its zone before the vehicle leaves the yard. That work takes time, and doing it properly beforehand is why the truck arrives ready to load rather than being set up in your yard.

Pull-down timings. Both zones together take 75 to 90 minutes on the 3 and 5 ton, and 100 to 120 minutes on the 7 and 10 ton. This happens at our yard, never with your cargo aboard.

Driver included. Rent a refrigerated truck with driver as standard on every rate — drivers trained on dual-zone operation, including keeping each compartment’s door discipline separate on multi-drop routes.

Loading access. The 3 and 5 ton carry 1,000 kg hydraulic tail lifts. The 7 and 10 ton need a loading dock or an on-site forklift.

Frequently Asked Questions

A partitioned truck runs one evaporator feeding both sections through a damper, so the compartments drift toward each other. Ours run two independent evaporator coils on a multi-compressor system with no shared air path, so each zone holds its own set point.

No. The two compartments share no air path, so a delivery stop that opens one leaves the other undisturbed. Its temperature log shows no deviation from that stop, which matters when the record has to satisfy an audit.

Yes. The bulkhead moves along fixed tracks to 50/50, 60/40 or 70/30, and the evaporator programs change with it. A distributor running frozen and chilled one month and chilled and ambient the next uses the same vehicle.

Yes. A zone can be set to +15°C to +18°C for products specified at Controlled Room Temperature, which are damaged by chilling. That zone can run alongside a chilled or frozen compartment in the same journey.

Because it is prepared rather than simply dispatched. Both zones are pre-cooled, the bulkhead is set to your ratio and each evaporator is calibrated before the truck leaves. Pull-down alone takes up to two hours on the larger sizes.

Considerably. A 5-ton multi-temperature truck at AED 500 a day replaces two single-temperature trucks costing AED 850 — and you pay one driver, one fuel bill and one set of tolls instead of two sets of everything.

Then book a single-temperature truck instead. A chiller or freezer truck carries the same pallet count for less, and we will quote that rather than a multi-temperature vehicle you do not need.
